Explore Tromsø alone or with good friends and visit us during winter. If you are lucky to have winter holidays, or you are looking for a long weekend trip, Tromsø has the perfect combination of city life and nature experiences.
Enjoy urban cafés and restaurants, go on guided brewery tours, and taste local food and drinks. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner is all ready for you between shopping or outdoor activities. Take a refreshing dip in the ocean by the Pust sauna or in Tromsøbadet, go skiing on top of the island or walk along the water to the southside of the island and Telegrafbukta. In addition to fresh air, we have exciting museums and adventure centers and you can visit attractions like The Arctic Cathedral and the Cable Car. Expand your knowledge about Northern Norwegian culture and history in Perspektivet Museum or Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum, amongst others.
If you are looking for more action, there’s plenty of magical mountains for ski touring across the Tromsø region, but also just outside the city. In Kvaløya, Lyngen and Senja you will find hundreds of mountains. Remember that the weather can change quickly, and it is not recommended to go ski touring without a guide if you are unexperienced. Read more about avalanche safety and ski touring here.
Go fishing on the open sea, dogsledding, reindeer sledding, get to know Arctic wildlife or go for a ride on snowmobiles. Join a RIB-tour og kayak along the island before you end the day in one of our city hotels. It is also possible to rent cabins or fisherman huts by the sea or up in the mountains. See all accommodation options here and book your next adventure here.
We hope to see you for your next winter holiday in Tromsø!
