Stortorget
The main square "Stortorget" is the city's meeting point, and is surrounded by kiosks, restaurants, nightlife and shops. Sometimes also markets and festivals take place at the square.
About us
The monument located at the square has been erected in memory of hunters and fishermen who have died at sea. It dates back to 1984 and was created by artist Sivert Donaldi. In 1911, Margit Løkke opened the newspaper kiosk, which still stands proudly above Stortorget, and is called "The Rocket Kiosk".
