We invite you to join us in a fun varied terrain snowmobile safari there where locals drive. You will be in a small group and get to explore a nature area outside of Tromsø. During our evening tour you might experience northern lights.

General information

This tour is conducted by North Experience

Upon arrival at Basecamp, we dress in warm winter gear and begin the adventure with safety instructions and a practical demonstration. It is then time to follow our 20 km* snowmobiling track that leads you to the snow-covered mountains.

We will stop during the trip to take photos and play in the snow. You will drive in pairs with one driver and one passenger per snowmobile and plenty of opportunities to switch places during the two-hour snowmobiling excursion.

After driving back down the trail and parking the snowmobiles, we will serve you a hot meal in a traditional North Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. After relaxing and warming up, it is time to head back to Tromsø.

Availability period: This snowmobile excursion by North Experience is available during the period 10th December 2024 to 31st March 2025.

    Duration: 4,5 hours + transfer from Tromsø if you book this option (75 min each way). You will spend ca 2 hours on the snowmobile.
    Level of difficulty: Medium
    Number of participants: 2 - 16
    Age limit: 12 years old. Children between 12 and 15 years of age can participate, but must be above the minimum hight of 140 cm.

    If you select transfer from Tromsø:
    Meeting time and place: At 4:45 PM (16:45) by Radisson Blu Hotel, Tromsø. Pickup at 5:00 PM (17:00).

    You will arrive at the North Experience Basecamp, Hatteng at 6:30 PM (18:30).

    Return to Tromsø: Departure from North Experience Basecamp at 10:30 PM (22:30) and return to Tromsø around 12:00 PM (24:00).

    If you select no transfer (meet at the starting point):
    Meeting time and place: At the North Experience Basecamp, Hatteng (municipality of Storfjord) at 6:30 PM (18:30).

    Itinerary:
    5:00 PM (17:00): Departure from Tromsø
    6:30 PM (18:30): Arrival at North Experience, Hatteng
    Get ready for snowmobile excursion, safety instructions and warm winter gear.
    9:15 PM (21:15): Back at basecamp. Hot meal served.
    10:30 PM (22:30): Departure from the basecamp
    12:00 PM (24:00): Back in Tromsø
