Snowmobile excursion into the wilderness - daytime tour with North Experience

This tour is conducted by North Experience

Upon arrival at Basecamp, we dress in warm winter gear and begin the adventure with safety instructions and a practical demonstration. It is then time to follow our 20 km* snowmobiling track that leads you to the snow-covered mountains. We will stop during the trip to take photos and play in the snow.

You will drive in pairs with one driver and one passenger per snowmobile and plenty of opportunities to switch places during the two-hour snowmobiling adventure.

After driving back down the trail and parking the snowmobiles, we will serve you a hot meal in a traditional North Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. After relaxing and warming up, it is time to head back to Tromsø, or spend the night in one of our Aurora Huts.

Availability period: This snowmobile excursion by North Experience is available during the period 10th December 2024 to 31st March 2025.

  Duration: 3,5 hours + transfer from Tromsø if you book this option (75 min each way). You will spend ca 2 hours on the snowmobile.
  Level of difficulty: Easy
  Number of participants: 2 - 16
  Age limit: 12 years old. Children between 12 and 15 years of age can participate, but must be above the minimum hight of 140 cm.
  
  If you select transfer from Tromsø:
  Meeting time and place: At 8:45 AM (08:45) at the large carpark next to Scandic Ishavshotel, Tromsø. The Arctic Route bus departs at 9:00 AM (09:00).
  Look for the Arctic Route bus towards Alta.
  
  You will arrive in Hatteng at 10:15 AM (10:15), right next to the North Experience Basecamp
  
  Return to Tromsø: Departure from North Experience Basecamp at 4:10 PM (16:10) and return to Tromsø around 5:30 PM (17:30).
  
  If you select no transfer (meet at the starting point):
  Meeting time and place: At the North Experience Basecamp, Hatteng (municipality of Storfjord) at 10:15 AM (10.15).
  
  Itinerary:
  9:00 AM (09:00): Departure from Tromsø with Arctic Route (towards Alta/Storslett)
  10:20 AM (10:20): Arrival at North Experience
  Get ready for snowmobile excursion, safety instructions and warm winter gear.
  1:00 PM (13:00): Back at basecamp. Hot meal served.
  4:10 PM (16:10): Departure from the basecamp
  5:30 PM (17:30): Back in Tromsø
