We’ll sail through a living Arctic cultural and natural museum, where you can choose to take part in sailing and manoeuvring the boat or simply sit back and enjoy the magnificent scenery.

General information

The journey begins at 9:30 AM at Kaldfjord Marina, where we’ll meet for a short introduction and safety briefing. We’ll then set sail, weather permitting, and navigate through the deep fjord, passing old farmsteads, historic settlements, and towering mountains rising dramatically from the water. Along the way, we’ll share stories about the people who have lived along this fjord for generations and how Norway’s coastal communities have thrived in harmony with nature.

As we reach the mouth of the fjord, where the landscape transitions from fjords and mountains to open ocean and islands, we’ll head to one of our favourite fishing spots – a place used by generations before us. Here, we’ll try our luck at catching fresh fish for a warm onboard lunch.

With our catch secured, we’ll begin our journey back. As dusk settles over the fjord, we’ll serve steaming hot fish soup in our cozy onboard lounge. We’ll enjoy a delicious meal together, share stories, and, if we’re lucky, witness the northern lights dancing across the sky.

Included: A warm, wholesome meal, thermal suits to keep you warm, snacks, tea, coffee, and water. Please note that we unfortunately do not have suits for children under 12 years old

Level of difficulty: Easy. No prior experience is required, but some mobility is necessary to move around the boat.
Departure time and place: Guests are asked to arrive 10 minutes before departure, at 9:30 AM. The marina is located at Ropnesvegen 59 and is easily accessible by bus 42, which runs directly from the city center to Eidkjosen bus terminal, followed by a short walk. If you are driving, free parking is available at the marina

Veidemann.eco is a unique travel company specializing in tailored sailing tours in Kaldfjord, one of the most pristine areas near Tromsø. As Tromsø’s smallest sailing company, operating a single 36-foot boat, we offer an intimate and personal experience. Our experienced skipper and small groups allow you to actively participate in sailing and maneuvering or simply relax and enjoy the journey. The boat is a fast and comfortable Scandinavian classic from the 1990s.



Our tours take you through a living Arctic cultural and natural museum. Along the way, we sail past historic farms, ancient settlements, and spectacular mountains rising above the deep fjord. Guests can experience seasonal wildlife and try their luck fishing at spots that have been used for generations.



The boat features a warm and cozy cabin, ensuring comfort even on the coldest days. Modern amenities, including an onboard toilet, provide a convenient experience. Our tours are family-friendly, welcoming even small children from 0 to 3 years old. We prepare fresh seafood onboard and serve warm lunches—the perfect way to round off a day at sea. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available, and we can accommodate various dietary needs to ensure everyone enjoys a full experience.



In winter, we operate three regular tours per week but gladly accommodate private requests outside of this schedule. During the summer season, we primarily focus on private tours, customized to our clients’ preferences. Our goal is to provide authentic and sustainable experiences that offer guests a deeper understanding of Arctic life.
