Aurora Husky Visit

per person
This tour is conducted by Tromsø Villmarkssenter. Experience the Northern Lights and make friends with our 200 Alaskan huskies.
General information
We invite you to our Aurora Camp, where our professional guides will host you for the evening. Above our center, located 30 minutes away from Tromsø and the city lights, the night sky is dark and well suited for northern lights watching.
While you wait for the lights to appear, your guide will give you some insight in the natural phenomenon Aurora Borealis. You can also cuddle with our 200 huskies and their puppies and learn about the dog sled racing, breeding and animal welfare on a guided tour of our kennel. Our thermal suits and boots will keep you warm in the arctic winter night!
In our cozy Gamme-hut dinner will be served around an open fire. Try Bacalao, a traditional Norwegian fish dish with Portuguese roots made from regional produce (vegetarian option is available upon preliminary request) and a piece of our signature chocolate cake. While you eat, your guide will keep a close eye on the sky and inform you about any Aurora activity!
After dinner there is time to watch the northern lights, take pictures and say goodbye to the dogs, before we head back to Tromsø.

About Tromsø Villmarkssenter
30 years ago, the renowned dog sled racer Tove Sørensen opened her home to guests from all over the world. Since then, she and her family have dedicated their life to educating visitors about Alaskan huskies, dog sledding and the arctic nature through sustainable outdoor activities.
We strive to be inclusive hosts in every regard - everybody who shares our passion is welcome! You can request vegetarian and vegan alternatives for all our programs and most of our activities are great for the whole family. Let your little ones play with our little ones in the puppy training program or take them on a sledding adventure chauffeured safely by one of our experienced guides. Infants between 0-2 are always free of charge and we offer discounts for children!
Our facilities are also wheelchair accessible and especially the dog sledding ride program is well suited for people with disabilities. However, our walkways can be a bit difficult to maneuver, especially when covered in snow. So make sure to have a helper with you when you come visit! The standard shuttle service requires you to enter the bus on your own, but we can arrange for specialized transportation upon request. Please contact us if you are planning to visit, we would love to tailor-make a smooth and barrier free experience for you!
On our programs you will not only experience everything we love about our home, but discover your very own inner connection to the Arctic. Whether you let us teach you how to drive a sled or let a four-legged hiking buddy show you their favorite trails – Tromsø Villmarkssenter is your home in the wilderness!
