The guide will also show you our sailing route on a map and review the KPI values for Northern Lights observations from the past 24 hours. Learn about the science, history, and cultural significance of this natural wonder while we keep our eyes on the sky in search of the Aurora Borealis. The guide will lead you to the ship that stays right outside the museum.

Your adventure begins at the Full Steam Museum, located at Søndre Tollbodgate 3, 9008 Tromsø. Guests are invited to join a special Northern Light presentation at the museum at 19:00 (7 PM), where our expert guides will meet you at the entrance. This informative session will enhance your understanding of the Aurora Borealis, setting the stage for the magical experience to come.

Extend Your Experience: Want to enhance your experience? Book the Full Steam Northern Lights dinner at our restaurant at the harbor, just a short distance from MS Strønstad. Enjoy a culinary journey into Arctic cuisine, with service starting at 18:00.

About Full Steam Tromsø

Full Steam restaurant was established in 2018 and is located at Bangsundbrygga in Tromsø.


Bangsundbrygga was built in 1902 as a fish factory. The building is well maintained and fits in well with what the Full Steam restaurant has to offer - story telling about the older fishing history in the Troms region as well as food based on local ingredients from the sea.



Book a table for small or large groups, festivities or events. In total, you can have a group with an à la carte menu that seats up to 120 people or a conference for 100 people. You can also book a guided tour in our museum where you can look, taste, smell and listen to this interesting history.
