Welcome to the best and oldest Lyngen horse stud farm in Tromsø.

General information

At our farm you will be able to meet mares with foals, virile stallions and playful youngsters.

The Lyngshorse belongs to this part of the world and have been here for centuries – it has been shaped by the midnight sun during the summer months and the northern lights during the winter months.. It is now a part of the Northern Norwegian cultural heritage.

This particular breed is versatile, friendly and beautiful – and it charms everybody that gets to know it.

During our farm visit you will learn about the history, and different uses of the horses throughout the ages and how it was saved during WWII.

If weather conditions permit it, there will be opportunity for some riding on the riding track, or a shot ride. 

The weight limit for riding is 95 kg.

Here you are surrounded by magnificent nature and with the midnight sun and northern lights when weather conditions allow.


We are one of the country's largest breeders of the local and indigenous horse breed Lyngshesten. With us you will have the opportunity to hear the story of the strong and beautiful Lyngenhorse that comes from Troms. You will get to go into the herd with mares and foals, pet and cuddle with the horses, then we take care of the horses and take them for a ride. 



With local and knowledgeable guides, you will have a history and experience of a lifetime with our beautiful horses. Welcome to us!
