Arctic Philharmonic: The world’s northernmost professional orchestra, offering approximately 200 performances and concerts annually. Take in a concert and enjoy a fantastic musical experience or book an organised visit.
Blåst: The world's northernmost glass blowing studio, located in Tromsø city centre. Watch up-close as the artists are working. All the blown glass items are designed and made in the workshop.
Galleri Nord: Sells paintings, graphics, sculptures and glass art by local artists and some of Northern Norway's most well-known artists. They sell art on behalf of over 70 artists.
Husfliden: Sale of locally-produced craftsmanship of the highest quality. Husfliden Tromsø manufactures bunads (traditional costumes) year-round.
Ishavskatedralen (The Arctic Cathedral): A bold piece of architecture by architect Jan Inge Hovig from 1965. Inspired by Arctic nature, the interior is dominated by the glass mosaic ‘The Return of Christ’, which is rich in symbols and attracts great attention among visitors.
Magic Ice: A wonderful winter wonderland built of several tons of natural ice. The art gallery is created by world-class ice artists. The exhibition is about expeditions and discoveries made by Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen.
Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum: Art from and about north Norway, from the early 19th century to the present day, including national art history, contemporary art and handicrafts. Nordnorsk art museum regularly presents new, changing exhibitions of both Norwegian and foreign art, in addition to the collection exhibition.
Perspektivet Museum: Challenging exhibitions on historical and contemporary themes and contributions to alternative perspectives on culture and society. The museum has exhibitions of documentary photography and is housed in a listed patrician house from 1838 in Tromsø city centre. The museum also owns two open-air facilities: in Folkeparken in the south of Tromsøya (formerly Troms Folkemuseum) and Straumen Gård farm on Kvaløya.
Tromsø Kunstforening: Changing exhibitions with Norwegian and international contemporary art in a classical building in central Tromsø. Tromsø Kunstforening has been run continuously since 1924 and is one of the oldest art institutions in Northern Norway.
Troll Museum: the first museum in Norway dedicated entirely to trolls and fairy tales. The exhibits incorporate augmented reality features which superimpose moving elements and sound to the art you can see. All in all, this is a unique way for the whole family to learn more about Norse folklore and all things troll!
